Review: Avon Products

Hey Lovelies!

I am finally back! If you haven’t read my last post which was a little update on why I haven’t been posting, please check it out. I have a post today and another planned for possibly tomorrow or Monday as well as a couple reviews and bits and pieces I have planned too. I also have a couple of posts which are a little serious, something totally different to what I normally post and I can’t wait to get those up for you guys too.

However, onto today’s post, I wanted to bring to you a review of Avon products I have tried and tested over the past couple of months, some products I’ve been using for years so I feel like my opinions will be accurate reviews for you guys if you’re interested in maybe using some of their products. Just to prewarn you guys, this post is pretty long so grab a cuppa and some biscuits!

The first product I want to talk to you about is one of my most recent purchases which is their new matte lipstick line. They have claimed that it is ‘more matte than mac’ so I decided to buy one to put it to the test. I went for the colour Mauve Matters.

It looked like a really nice colour in the brochure and it didn’t disappoint when it arrived.

I am really into reds and pinks at the moment so I fell in love when this arrived! Below I swatched it for you guys, one without the flash on the left and one with the flash on the right. Both look incredible.

I am honestly impressed with this lipstick. It is such a good consistency, it doesn’t dry out your lips whatsoever and I just really do love it. I have ate and drank whilst wearing it and it has passed both of those tests, I really do think they have created an amazing product here. It definitely lives up to my expectations and if you want a cheaper alternative to Mac this product is perfect for that. I brought this for £5.50, which is currently their offer price before it goes to it’s regular price of £8. Absolute bargain and I definitely think you guys should try it out, especially whilst it is so cheap!

The next product is this Moroccan Argan Oil leave in treatment.

This is probably the best hair product I have ever used. My hair is pretty long now and every 3 months I have it dyed blonde, I don’t use bleach, my hair dresser only uses a tint which is not as damaging. Even though bleach isn’t used on my hair I still need to keep my hair in good condition, so when I seen Avon selling this, after hearing incredible reviews about Moroccan argon oil, I decided to try it out and I am so happy I did! It’s an incredible £5.50, however as I write this there is a huge sale on and it is only £3.30 and to me, a product that will keep your hair healthy and shiny is worth that and more. I think for such a cheap product it really does do wonders for your hair and I definitely recommend it, whether your hair is damaged or not this product really does keep your hair in great condition. I use it every 2/3 days when I wash my hair, I pump it 3 times and run it through the length of my hair whilst it’s still wet, it doesn’t make it look greasy like some products, it just leaves it looking shiny and healthy. One thing I will say is don’t expect to see results after using it just once, it does a take a couple times before you see results. I’ve been using it for probably 3 or 4 months now, I’m onto my second bottle, so as you can see it lasts a very long time and my hair is in the best condition is has ever been. My hair was never damaged but I feel like using this really has made a huge noticeable difference.

The next products I want to tell you guys about are the matching Moroccan Argon Oil shampoo and conditioner.

These products work so well along side the leave in treatment. All 3 products have contributed to my hair being the best it has ever been. There isn’t really much to say about them as they’re normal shampoo and conditioner but along side the leave in treatment they work really well and I definitely recommend trying them if you’re looking for a new shampoo and conditioner to add to your hair care routine. Normally they are £2.80 each, however as I write this they are only £1.65 which is an absolute bargain!

This next product I am only briefly mentioning as I don’t really like it at all. It is the Big & Daring volume mascara.

I don’t like writing negative reviews but this product is not nice at all. As you can see in the picture it doesn’t close properly meaning it dried out ridiculously quick. It is also really clumpy even before you open it. It’s regularly £8.50, however it is now currently £5. But I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

The next product is this Magi X face perfector.

I absolutely love this product. It is £10.50, which is slightly more expensive than most products in this post, however for me it is definitely worth it. It is such a good primer and it lasts all day. I’ve had this around 6 or 7 months and still have some left. It’s such a good product you don’t need too much of it so that’s probably why it has lasted me so long. If you are looking for a good primer then I definitely suggest trying this one.

The product on my list is this ColorTrend concealer + correcteur.

I use this mainly to line my eyebrows and clean them up, I don’t really use it to conceal. I used to use it to conceal and it was actually really good, however I much prefer liquid concealer rather than stick concealer. I think for me, this is a really good product, it is really creamy and easy to use and definitely works whether you use it to conceal or to tidy up your brows like I do.

From the above picture you can also see it is pretty brightening. That photo was taken with the flash on. I really do think for £3 it is a bargain. There is better concealers out, like the Collection Last Perfection concealer which is only £1.19 more and definitely a lot better and that’s why I no longer use this concealer as a concealer, but for tidying up your brows or eyeliner it is ideal for sure.

The next product is this glimmerstick brow definer, which mine is in blonde.

For me this product is not bad but not the best either. It does work well, however it is so pigmented and creamy that sometimes it is really hard to work with. This is £6 and to me that is way too much for what you’re getting. I much prefer Collection’s Brow Kit, which is only £3.99 where you get 3 shades and a brow gel. It does the job but for me this product is too expensive compared to other good quality brow products on the market.

I have a couple other Avon products that I am currently testing out so I will probably do a follow up post with those other products. I hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you hopefully very soon for my next post!

  1. Hey, I loved your post! I’m and Avon Rep in Canada and its really neat to see what other countries have for products. One thing, the Big and Daring Mascara, it’s not my favorite that Avon has either and I’m not sure if you’ve purchased it previously but it also seems to that you may have gotten a bad bottle. I’m not sure if they make things differently elsewhere either but if you ever wanted to give it another shot, you may have better luck second time.
